Greek-born pianist George-Emmanuel Lazaridis graduated from the Thessaloniki College of Music in 1994 where he studied with Donna Evnouhidou, winning both First Prize and the Gold Medal for exceptional talent. His studies continued in London, first at the Royal College of Music under Yonty Solomon, where he gained a BMus with first class Honours and the prize for the highest distinction, as well as winning the coveted Chappell Medal, and subsequently at Trinity College of Music, where he gained a top distinction for his Master's degree. During this time, additional studies were undertaken with Alfred Brendel, Ruth Nye and Paul Badura Skoda.

George-Emmanuel Lazaridis has regularly performed throughout Europe and the United States, taking in performances in the Salle Cortot in Paris, the Athens Concert Hall, the Mozart Hall in Vienna, the Isanat Concert Hall in Istanbul, the Acropolis, and London's Royal Albert Hall, where he recently made his début with the London Festival Orchestra. Collaborations have included appearances with Michael Tilson Thomas, the violinist Leonidas Kavakos, the Warsaw Symphony Orchestra, the City of London Sinfonia, the Strasbourg Philharmonic, the Vienna United Philharmonic, the London Festival Orchestra, the Debrece Symphony Orchestra, the BT Scottish Ensemble, and most recently with the Medici Quartet as part of the Athens Concert Hall’s “Great Interpreters” Series, and with the English Symphony Orchestra. He has performed all the Bach Keyboard Concertos as well as a cycle of Mozart concertos with the Camarata Orchestra of the Athens Concert Hall and has also performed on Classic FM, BBC Radio 3, on TBC in the USA and on ERT in Greece. Future engagements include further performances with the Medici Quartet at the Mananan International Festival and the Nafplion International Festival in Greece, as well as concerto engagements with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hamburg Philharmonic, the English Symphony Orchestra and with the "Orchestra of Colours" at the Acropolis, where he will perform Scriabin's original version of Prometheus.

George-Emmanuel Lazaridis is also an avid composer and in 1997 was commissioned by the Cultural Capital of Europe Organization to write a work entitled "Deisis" for Choir and Orchestra; he has recently been commissioned to write a work for piano, voice and choir to be performed in June 2003 at London's Wigmore Hall. He is also working on a new opera, entitled Century.

His latest CD, of major works by Schumann, was released on the SOMM label and received outstanding reviews – indeed the BBC Music Magazine selected this recording within its top ten recommendations and found it to be "special enough to be beyond comparison".
