Messrs Grotrian and Steinweg founded the company over 170 years ago. Herr Steinweg then moved to America where he anglicised his name to Steinway. Grotrian-Steinweg have always used advanced production methods and applied detailed craftsmanship to create pianos like no other. The Royal Academy of Music has given its stamp of approval by selecting two of these fine pianos. The Purcell School also recently purchased a large number of Grotrian-Steinweg upright and grands for their new music block. The Yehudi Menuhin School chose Grotrian-Steinweg for the foyer of their new concert hall.
