ABRSM/Trinity College FAQ

These are frequently asked questions about Jaques Samuel Pianos as an exam venue – for more information about the exams themselves, please visit the examination boards’ websites.

Can I book the exam room for practice prior to the exam?

Yes. Please be aware however that the examining boards normally use 2 rooms for exams – rooms 2 and 3, both of which have a Bechstein grand piano – and we cannot know which specific room you’ll be allocated. 

Will I be able to warm up before the exam?

Yes - the examination boards will provide a warm up room immediately prior to the exam.

What if I’m running late for my exam?

If you’re running late on the day of the exam, you may call us and we will let the on-site examining board stewards know. However, we have no control over the examination board's functions or decisions.

Is there parking?

Yes - there are a few parking options nearby that are all outside the congestion charge zone:

Norfolk Crescent: 2 mins walk.

Bell Street CitiPark: 10/15 mins walk.

Kendal Street Car Park: 2 mins walk.

Bicycle parking: 8 bike racks next to Rymans and 4 opposite Barclays.

Is there disabled access?

Access to the exam rooms is by staircase only.

Are there toilets?

Yes, there are 3 public toilets available.
